Coimbatore: Two men involved in the theft of two wheelers in Pollachi and the neighbouring areas were caught by the police. They seized cell phones and vehicles from them.
Coimbatore: Two men involved in the theft of two wheelers in Pollachi and the neighbouring areas were caught by the police.They seized cell phones and vehicles from them.
There has been a spike in the number of two wheeler thefts in Pollachi and its surrounding areas in the past few months. Owing to this the Pollachi police have been involved in intensive vehicle checks under the orders of the Pollachi DSP.
When the Taluk police were involved in vehicle checks at R.Ponnapuram Pirivu on the Palakkad Road, a two wheeler that was stopped for enquiry did not have any relevant documents. Following this the men on the two wheeler were taken to the police station for enquiry.
During enquiry it was revealed that the two men wereAnsar Muhammed (22), an Automobile Diploma Degree holder from the Meenatchipuram area and Nawas Sheriff (22) of the same area who is a B.Com graduate. It was revealed that both of them had lost their income due to the COVID-19 lockdown and had begun stealing two wheelers.

Following this, four two wheelers and some cell phones were confiscated from the two men. A case was filed on the two men and they were presented at court. They have been imprisoned at the Avinashi prison.
