Coimbatore: The Coimbatore Corporation has initiated a survey for the use of bicycles, currently within the Corporation areas. This survey is being done online.

Bicycling pathways and walking pathways have been created on the lake banks of the Ukkadam Periyakulam, Valan Kulam and the Kurichi Kulam of the metropolitan area under the Smartcity scheme. Meanwhile plans are being made to encourage the use of bicycles within the metropolitan areas by operating bicycles.

To understand the facilities needed and the problems of using bicycles, an online survey has been initiated on behalf of the Corporation. Through this, another project to bring about bicycles for use by the public might be initiated by the Corporation in the metropolitan areas.

Speaking about this plan, a Corporation official said, "Research is being done to understand if bicycling paths can be set up within the metropolitan areas of the Coimbatore Corporation. To encourage the use of bicycles and to understand the problems in using a bicycle, an online survey is being conducted under the name 'Cycles 4 Change'.This survey will collect the opinion of the public regarding bicycle usage", he said.
