Tirupur: Victims of a chit fund forgery submitted a petition to the District Collector in Tirupur.

Tirupur: Victims of a chit fund forgery submitted a petition to the District Collector in Tirupur. Gopalasamy, from Ammapalayam area in Tirupur has been running a variety of chit schemes in the area for the past 9 years including auction chits, school chits, fund chit and Diwali chits.Many people from the area have joined his chit schemes based on the trust in him.



People who had paid the installments regularly have been asking him to return the maturity amount. But he kept dodging saying one reason or the other. When they went to his home to ask about it, they came to know that he’s absconding.

The victims have filed a complaint with the district collector seeking to arrest him and recover their money immediately. The public said that up to 2000 people have joined the chit schemes in the area and he had defrauded up to 2 crore rupees in total.
