Coimbatore: The Coimbatore District Administration has been carrying out various measures to control the spread and treat the patients who are getting infected everyday. As of today, Coimbatore is averaging almost 400 cases everyday and with the city opened out for inter-district travel, the district administration is planning for additional facilities.
To aide in this, CODISSIA has further extended its support for treating asymptomatic COVID-19 patients.
Speaking to SimpliCity, Coimbatore District Small Industries Association (CODISSIA) President, R. Ramamurthy said “Earlier as per the request made by the district administration on behalf of our association we provided ‘Hall D', 'Hall E' at Codissia trade fair complex for 'Covid-19' care purpose. Recently the food court also was provided for this purpose.
Since establishing bed facilities was difficult here, the district administration requested us to provide some other Hall. After discussing with our committee members we have further extended our support by providing 'Hall B' also for this purpose. 500 beds can be setup in this hall. Already 400+ beds in Hall D and more than 350 beds have been established in Hall E. Adding a new Hall for this purpose will help the government in providing COVID-19 care to more patients. At present Hall A and Hall C are only available. We have some work going on in Hall C as we are planning to establish a defense innovation center there.”
Currently around 5800 beds are available for treatment in Coimbatore District and this is a welcome addition to the number of beds available for treatment in Coimbatore.
