Meeting with the press In Coimbatore, Health Minister Vijayabaskar said that the relaxation of the e-pass system by the central government for inter-state and intra-state travel poses a tough challenge to the health department.
Ministers Vijayabaskar and SP Velumani jointly participated in a review meeting on corona prevention measures held at the Coimbatore District Collectorate.
Speaking to the press from Coimbatore GH, Health Minister Vijayabaskar said, “Measures to be taken to control coronavirus infection in Coimbatore district were studied and detailed consultation was held with the authorities.
So far, 8,532 corona patients have been cured in Coimbatore district, which is 78% of the total number of victims.
Coimbatore Corporation has been instructed to conduct 100 medical camps per day. Of the 6,112 tested in specialized fever camps in the Corporation areas, 1902 were diagnosed with the virus.
Coimbatore district has 5,821 bed facilities to treat corona patients. If necessary, steps will be taken to increase corona testing and bed facilities.
Measures are being taken to reduce corona infection in Tamil Nadu. In a couple of weeks, the results of the Corona test will be announced online and via SMS.
There are 25 Siddha Medical Centers in Tamil Nadu treating infected people without symptoms. In all the districts, a Siddha Medical Center will be set up to treat the asymptomatic patients.
The reason for the increase in corona deaths was due to the presence of comorbidities and other ailments and that private hospitals treating corona patients would be issued notices if they sent patients to a government hospital after their health deteriorated.
