Coimbatore: Minister SP Velumani and TN Health Minister Vijayabaskar inaugurated the Plasma Bank and the renovated Prosthetic Body Parts Manufacturing Center at Coimbatore Government Hospital.
The prosthetic body parts manufacturing centre at Coimbatore Government Hospital premises has been renovated at an estimated cost of Rs. 50 lakhs. This centre manufactures prostheses for people who have lost their limbs under the Chief Minister's Comprehensive Insurance Scheme. Previously such injuries and patients were sent to Chennai GH or private hospitals for such treatment. The Plasma Collection Bank has been set up at the hospital premises at a cost of ₹25 lakhs.
The Ministers also visited and inspected the COVID-19 Information and Assistance Center which operates 24 hours a day to provide assistance to people. Health Secretary Radhakrishnan, District Collector Rajamani, Coimbatore Medical College Hospital Chief Kalidas and other officials were also present.
A review meeting on coronavirus prevention measures is also being held at the Coimbatore District Collectorate under the head of Minister SP Velumani and Minister Vijayabaskar.
