Coimbatore: The monsoons have laid a green carpet in Topslip making the place a sight to behold. But the tourists are disappointed as they cannot visit the popular tourist destination due to the lockdown restrictions.
As COVID-19 is on the rise, people have been banned from visiting tourist sites for more than four months. Due to this, major tourist destinations around Coimbatore, such as Ooty, Valparai, Topslip, Yercaud and Mudumalai wear a deserted look. Topslip is a popular tourist destination located in the Western Ghats near Pollachi with several herbal trees, wildlife and sceneries. Due to the monsoon, the Topslip forest in Pollachi has turned lush green and is a treat to the eyes.
The road to Topslip is also lined with huge herbal trees and teak trees. The Pullumedu Elephant safari sites are all now seen deserted with no tourists.
Tourists are heavily disappointed that they cannot enjoy the beauty of Topslip now and have said that all the popular tourist destinations now seem paralyzed due to the COVID-19 situation.
Also, people are eagerly waiting for the government to announce a relaxation of the ban on people visiting the tourist sites. they expressed that it will be a psychological change to people who have been locked up in their house with no work during the lockdown period.
