Coimbatore: TPDK protested in front of the Coimbatore Gandhipuram Express Transport Corporation condemning the police for allowing Vinayagar idols in public places.
The protest was led by K. Ramakrishnan. They raised slogans accusing the Coimbatore City Police of allowing Hindu organizations to place Vinayagar statues in public places in defying the ban by the government and the Madras High court.
They demanded to remove the Ganesha idols installed by the Hindu organizations as it is a defiance of the court order. TPDK General Secretary K. Ramakrishnan accused the Coimbatore Police of being mere spectators of the Ganesha idols being installed in public places defying the court orders.
He urged the police to take stern action against those who violated the court order and placed the Vinayagar idol. He also demanded action against the Hindu organizations involved and to remove the Vinayagar idols which were placed in violation of the ban.
The protest was attended by various organizations including the TPDK, Tamil puligal, TVK, Viduthalai Siruthaigal, Adi Tamilar Peravai, CPI and more.
