Coimbatore: Hindu Munnani will stage agitations if the government that gave permission to open TASMACs does not take action to permit the opening of temples, warned the Hindu Munnani State President Kadehswara Subramaniam.
Vinayagar Chathurthi celebrations are being conducted all over TN. Idols of Vinayagar have been placed in temples and at homes and worshipped all over the state.

32 Vinayagar statues have been placed in Mettupalayam and worship is being carried out. The idol placed in the Mettupalayam Sakthi Vinayagar temple is also being worshipped. The Hindu Munnani State President Kadeshwara Subramaniam took part in the celebrations and met the press.
Speaking to the press, he said, "The Vinayagar Chathurthi celebrations are being held with great enthusiasm in TN. Usually only one lakh statues are placed for celebrations. However, currently 10 lakh big and small statues of Vinayagar have been placed all over TN and worship is being done. All these statues will be worshipped only for today and then will be dissolved at water bodies in the evening. In a never beforemanner the TN government has been a huge hinderance for the celebrations, this year", he lamented.
"The Hindu Munnani has been following the guidelines issued by the court and the idols will be dissolved as per the guidelines. Citing the spread of the virus big and small temples all over the state, even in villages have been closed down. Only some temples have been permitted to remain open. However, TASMACs all over TN, including Chennai and all other districts have been permitted to remain open. It is condemnable that temples that are essential for the people are still ordered to remain closed", he charged.
"The same protection that has been given to the TASMAC shops must be provided to the temples as well and they must be permitted to reopen for public worship. If the government fails to do this then large scale protests will be held on behalf of the Hindu Munnani", he stated.
The State Secretary Kishore, Coimbatore Division Secretary Rajkumart, Coimbatore North District General Secretary Sathish, Vice President Thangavel and many other executives took part in the celebrations.
