Coimbatore: Kadeswara C Subramaniam of Hindu Munnani assured that Vinayagar Chathurthi will be celebrated responsibly with no crowding.

The Tamil Nadu government banned worship of Vinayagar in public places and gave permission for people to only worship by installing Vinayagar idols a homes. The government also banned the visarjan procession following the festival.

The Hindu Munnani said that it will defy the government's ban and place Ganesha idols of worship. The State Vice President of the Hindu Munnani, Kadeswara C. Subramaniam said, the Hindu munnani had indulged in various relief activities since outbreak of COVID-19 benefitting over a crore people.

After the courts came down in support of TN government, he has said "hence with social responsibility they would celebrate Vinayagar Chathurthi by following all the rules and regulations without crowding and will not hold visarjan. After discussion with the CM and by following Madras High Court's guidelines the festival will be celebrated on August 22 within the law and idols will be placed in private places like houses and in front of the temple with visarjan done the same evening with no crowding."

He seeked the support of the officials in carrying out the celebrations and assured that the Lord will eradicate COVID-19 and help the state to get back to form.
