Corporation Commissioner inspects special COVID-19 care center to treat women and children

Coimbatore:The Corporation Commissioner J. Shravan Kumar inspected the Special COVID-19 care center that is being set up for women and children. He further inspected the many special medical camps that have been set up in the Corporation. He requested the public to visit these medical camps and get themselves tested at the camps.

Various measures are being undertaken by the Coimbatore Corporation in an exemplary manner to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The Chief Minister of TN has also been offering various ideas and advice to the people to prevent the spread of COVID-19, through video conferencing.

People affected with COVID-19 are being offered treatment at the ESI Hospital, GH and the COVID center set up in CODISSIA. Special medical camps are being conducted in all the five zones of the Corporation, continuously.

In continuation of this the Corporation Commissioner J. Shravan Kumar visited the special COVID-19 treatment center that is being set up exclusively for women and children at the Marudamalai Subramanya Swamy Devasthanam Government Funded Higher Secondary school, today and reviewed it.



This center will offer treatment to those women and children without/ minimum symptoms. The Corporation Commissioner reviewed the center and enquired regarding the sanitation facility, drinking water facility, toilet facility, electricity facility, the treatment methods that will be followed at the center, the medical facilities offered and the facilities at the rooms where the patients stay. He also enquired about the measures being taken to set up these facilities.

Following this he visited the special medical camp being held at the Integrated Child Development Project Center at the Siddhi Vinayagar Colony in Ward No.18 and the special medical camp being held at Thimmiah Nagar, Veerakeralam in Ward no. 19 of the West Zone.



He also visited the special medical camps being held at Raja street in the Central Zone and enquired regarding the treatment being offered. He also enquired regarding the medicines being given, testing for COVID-19, BP testing and body temperature testing that is being done at the centre, to the doctors, nurses and health workers.

City Welfare Officer Dr.S.Raja. Doctors, nurses and health officers were present for the inspection.
