During a raid this morning, the Mettupalayam police busted the sex racket at a private lodge at Kallar near the foothills of the Nilgiris.
The police team led by Mettupalayam Police Inspector, Kesavan held an inquiry for over an hour at the lodge and arrested, the owners, Mahendran and Ganesh of the Anaikattu area of Vellore District.
A 25-year-old woman from Karnataka who was forced into flesh trading was rescued and sent to a government-run home in Coimbatore.
Police said the gang has been operating the sex racket during this pandemic situation by setting up secret rooms behind the mirrors. During the raid that lasted for an hour, the Police found that women from other states were involved in brothel at the lodge.
The Coimbatore District SP Arularasu has warned that stern action will be initiated on those who are involved in such illegal activities.
While most of the hotels and lodges are closed due to the pandemic, sex racket at this lodge located in the outskirts has shocked the locals.
