Coimbatore: Federation of Dravidian Associations in Pollachi demanded severe action against those who try conducting Visarjan processions as opposed to the ban.

While the entire nation is under lockdown due to the spread of COVID-19 the TN government had announced a ban on installing idols at public places and Visarjan processions. However, many Hindu outfits have announced that they would go past the ban and install Vinyagar idols and conduct the visarjan.

Under the circumstances, the Federation of Dravidian Associations submitted a petition at the Pollachi Sub-Collector's office which read, "The spread of COVID-19 has been increasing and in this situation there is a greater possibility for the infections to go up due to Vinayagar idol processions. Hence permission for the installation of the idols and for processions must not be provided. Those Hindu outfits that decide to go past the ban must be acted upon severely."
