Coimbatore: Two daily wage labourers were arrested for growing cannabis plants at their house near Pollachi. They were imprisoned.
The police received classified information that some persons were involved in growing and cannabis plants at their houses and also selling marijuana. Following this information, the police conducted inspections at Thensangampalayam and surroundings near Kottur.
During inspection they conducted a search at the houses of daily wage labourers Iyappan (25) and Santhosh (22) in the Thensangampalayam Samathuvapuram area. The police seized two cannabis plants and one kg of cannabis from the house of Iyappan and cannabis plants and 200 grams of cannabis from Santhosh's house.
It was revealed during investigation that the two men had been growing cannabis and selling it to the people in the surrounding areas. Following this, the Kottur police arrested the two men and have filed a case against them. They were presented at the Pollachi Judicial Magistrate Court II and were imprisoned.
