More than 3,000 students study at the Chikkanna Arts College. A part of the playground of the college was used by the District Administration to construct an indoor stadium. The District Sports Association has now made a decision to extend the indoor stadium at a cost of Rs.20 crores and the construction has begun for this.
The SFI protested this idea stating that the ground that was used for sports practice by the college students should not be taken over for construction of an indoor stadium.
