Tamilnadu has been observing complete lockdown on all Sundays for the past two months, to control the spread of COVID-19. All shops remain closed and the streets appear deserted due to the lack of people movement. As a result, of this more than 300 destitute people are suffering from lack of food.
In a humanitarian move, destitutes in Pollachi were provided with food and bottled water on behalf of the Lions Club Minnal.
Food packets were distributed near the Pollachi New Bus stand by Lions Club Pollachi Minnal President Srinivasan and the Coimbatore District Cooperative Bank President Krishnakumar.
The Lions Club Pollachi Minnal informed that until the end of the lockdown, destitutes in Pollachi will be provided with food and water bottles.
