TN government has mandated complete lockdown on Sundays in a bid to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The Tirupur police have been involved in vigilant vehicle checks, not just in the Corporation areas, but all over the district. Barricades have been set up and people who have valid reasons to venture out alone are permitted after an enquiry by the police.
Only milk shops and medical stores have been permitted to remain open in the district.
As a result of this, all the main streets appear deserted.
