Coimbatore Jamaat-e-Islami Hind celebrates 74th Independence Day

Coimbatore: Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Coimbatore chapter, organised a flag hoisting ceremony and celebrations on 74th Independence Day today at the campus of Hidhaya Islamic College for Women in Karumbukkadai at 8.30 a.m.

Janab. P.S. Umar Farook, President of Coimbatore chapter presided over this event and hoisted the National Flag.

Moulavi M.M. Mohammed Ismail Imdhadhi, State Secretary of Rabiyathul Ulema Forum gave the keynote address. He stated that as proud citizens of this country, we should not only divulge in our past sacrifices, but should also partake in the nation's development and prosperity. Every Indian should distance himself from divisive factors and should safeguard the notion ‘Unity in Diversity.’ He also pointed out the selfless sacrifices made by muslims in the construction of our great nation.



All the participants from the office bearers to the cadres followed social distancing and wore mask throughout this event.

The event concluded with the National Anthem and Sare Jahan Se Acha played.



Earlier, JIH issued a call to all of its members in a statement released by JIH that read, "We are really entitled to celebrate our Independence Day. Sacrifices made by our freedom fighters have helped us breathe freely today. Come let us celebrate the freedom that was earned by them. Let us uphold the principles of democracy."
