74th Independence Day celebrated at the Coimbatore Corporation

Coimbatore: Corporation Commissioner J. Shravan Kumar Jadavath hoisted the National Flag at Corporation Office in Town Hall on the occasion of the 74th Independence Day.

They paid homage to the statue of Mahatma Gandhi with flowers. Employees who have been working at the Corporation for 25 years were awarded Rs. 2,000 each and certificates of appreciation.



Corporation Commissioner said "The Corporation is taking various measures to control the coronavirus infection. The number of coronavirus victims today has come down as a result of the tireless work of all the officers and staff of the Corporation working tirelessly day and night. Compared to other districts, the Coimbatore Corporation has taken better preventive measures to prevent casualties."



He said,"The Government of Tamil Nadu is introducing various relaxations to facilitate economic activities. As a result, many shops, shopping complexes, temples, etc. are open, so the public must go out wearing masks. They should always observe adequate social distancing. People over the age of 50 who have symptoms such as cold, flu, cough and ailments such as high blood pressure, diabetes, kidney disease, and heart disease must undergo mandatory medical examinations. The public should take advantage of the fact that daily medical camps are being held in all the wards under the 5 zones of the Corporation."



He added, "Coimbatore Corporation continues to be number one in Tamil Nadu in Smart City projects and is ranked 5th in India. Even during the complete lockdown, Smart City work was carried out day and night. "Today, on the occasion of the 74th Independence Day, we at the Corporation will ensure that we work together in the future for betterment of the Coimbatore Corporation Administration."



Following this, on behalf of the Rathinam Group of Educational Institutions, the Coimbatore Corporation was honored with the COVID Warrior Award for its outstanding performance in the control of coronavirus infection. Later, the Commissioner of the Corporation presented a reward of Rs. 2,000 each and certificates of appreciation to 22 officials who had completed 25 years of excellent service in the Coimbatore Corporation.

Ravichandran, Municipal Urban Development Officer Raja, Municipal Education Officer Valliammal, Assistant Commissioner (Revenue) Annathurai, Assistant Commissioner (Accounts) Saravanan, Assistant Commissioner (Operations) Moganasundari, Managing Engineers Parvathi and Sasipriya, Assistant Executive Engineer K.Karuppusamy. Zonal Health Inspectors‌ and ‌sanitary workers attended the event.
