Bear trapped under a rock near Kotagiri rescued
The Nigiris: A bear trapped under a rock near Kotagiri was rescued after a long struggle.
Forest department personnel rescued a bear trapped under a rock in the Palliyada Tea Estate area near Kotagiri in the Nilgiris district on Friday. Bear movement has been on the rise in the Palliyada area recently. On Friday evening, a bear roaming in the area was looking for food on a rock when its forelegs got stuck in the rock.
The bear was struggling to get outfor a long time. Passersby who saw this alerted the Forest Department personnel who rushed to the area rescued the bear after a long struggle. The forest department said the bear is a five-year-old female.
