Tirupur: On the occasion of India's 74th Independence Day, Tirupur District Collector Vijayakarthikeyan hoisted the National Flag and provided welfare assistance worth Rs. 3 crore 67 lakhs.

Today marks the 74th Independence Day of India. Tirupur District Collector Vijayakarthikeyan hoisted the national flag at the Chikkanna Government Arts College and accepted the guard of honor by the police.

He later awarded certificates of appreciation to 70 constables who had excelled in the city and district of Tirupur and 279 persons from various government departments and volunteers. He also provided welfare assistance of Rs. 3,67,64,000 to various government departments. The event was attended by many including the District Collector, the District Superintendent of Police and the Commissioner of Police.
