Covid-19: 53 cases reported in Tirupur; 36 people discharged, 3 dead

Coimbatore: The Covid-19 tally in Tirupur rose to 1431 after 53 new cases were reported, on Friday. So far, 459 active cases from the district are under treatment.

Coimbatore: The Covid-19 tally in Tirupur rose to 1431 after 53 new cases were reported, on Friday. So far, 459 active cases from the district are under treatment.

Today, 36 people have fully recovered and discharged, a total of 932 people in the district have recovered from Covid-19, so far.

Three people succumbed to the disease today, thus the total death tally increased to 40.

According to the district administration, 5703 people are under home quarantine. And, 1306 were subjected to PCR testing, on Friday.

Details of Covid positive patients who succumbed, today:

1.A 67-year-old male from Tiruppur admitted on August 12 at Government Medical College and ESI Hospital, died on the same day, due to Renal Failure / Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.

2. A 61-year-old male from Tiruppur admitted on August 11 with co-morbidities at ESI Hospital, Coimbatore, died on August 12.

3. A 58-year-old female from Tiruppur admitted on August 9 at Coimbatore Medical College Hospital, died on August 12 due to Bronchial Asthma/Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, B/L Bronchopneumonia.
