The Nilgiris: Three men who started from Kallakurichi, Kadalur crossed five districts without an E-pass and attempted to enter into the Nilgiris District. They were, however, caught at the Kunjapanai check post and were taken to Ooty to be quarantined.

People coming into the Nilgiris District, from Mettupalayam have to cross one of two checkposts; Burliar and at Kunjapanai. People are subjected to intensive checks at these checkposts for their E-pass and their samples are taken for testing. Following this the vehicles are sprayed with disinfectants and then permitted into the district.

Three men who attempted to enter into the Nilgiris District on a two wheeler were stopped by the police and interrogated.

The three men had started out from Kallakurichi, Cuddalore and had travelled without an E-pass. They had crossed many checkposts and had used many new routes via villages to arrive at the Nilgiris without an E-pass.

Since the dense forests of the Nilgiris prevented them from taking an unknown route, they were forced to use the Kunajapanai route and were caught at the check post. The three men were JCB equipment operators and had travelled to see their friend in Kotagiri.

Following this, the three men were taken to the Ooty Government Hospital by the Kotagiri police for testing and quarantined them.
