Two killed in a road accident near Coimbatore

Coimbatore: Two person were killed when a tanker truck collided head-on with an Eicher truck near Coimbatore.

Coimbatore: Two person were killed when a tanker truck collided head-on with an Eicher truck near Coimbatore. Sekar (40) hails from Kolathur in Salem district. He is a tanker lorry driver. He was traveling in a tanker lorry to Kerala via the Salem-Cochin bypass last night. The tanker lorry was speeding near Chettipalayam near Coimbatore district this morning.

At that time, the tanker lorry collided with an Eicher van coming from the state of Kerala making it topple into a nearby pit.. Veeramani from Tiruppur who drove the vehicle and an unidentified cleaner who were in Eicher van died on the spot.

The bodies of the two have been sent to Coimbatore Government Hospital for autopsy. The driver of the tanker lorry, Sekar, who was slightly injured, has been admitted at a private hospital in Sundarapuram. Chettipalayam police are investigating the incident.
