Five frontline workers including Pollachi Govt Hospital Doctor tested positive for Covid-19

Coimbatore: The increase in novel coronavirus infections amid health care providers have gone up in many districts. Cases of doctors, staff nurses, ambulance drivers and conservancy workers testing positive for the virus continues to be on the rise in Tamil Nadu.

Coimbatore: The increase in novel coronavirus infections amid health care providers have gone up in many districts. Cases of doctors, staff nurses, ambulance drivers and conservancy workers testing positive for the virus continues to be on the rise in Tamil Nadu.

While, the recent spike in Covid-19 cases in Pollachi has caused concern among the people, five of the frontline workers have been tested positive, today. A doctor from Pollachi government hospital, a 108 ambulance driver and two nurses of a private hospital in Pollachi town have confirmed to have contracted the novel virus.

Reports confirm that they have been shifted to Coimbatore ESI Hospital for treatment.



Disinfection works are underway at full swing at hospitals and places where Covid-19 patients were reported.

In Vadugapalayam Village, a flower seller was reported to have tested positive for Covid, today. Following which, the area where his shop is located has been sealed for disinfection works.

Public have been informed to follow social distancing and wear masks.
