Covid-19: Tirupur records all time high of 80 cases; total leaps to 1315

Tirupur: Registering a new all time high Covid-19 spike, Tirupur district has confirmed 80 positive cases, on Wednesday. The total cases has increased to 1315, as per the State bulletin.








Tirupur: Registering a new all time high Covid-19 spike, Tirupur district has confirmed 80 positive cases, on Wednesday. The total cases has increased to 1315, as per the State bulletin.

In the wake of increase in positive cases, the district administration has geared up the testing numbers. 1151 people with travel history/those who are the primary contacts of positive patients/those who presented with symptoms were subjected to PCR testing, today.

With 435 active cases under treatment at both government and private hospitals, 17 people are reported to have fully recovered and discharged, today.

The district administration has also stepped up vigil on home quarantine, as 5093 including 969 people added today are advised quarantine and monitored.

Today, 190 of such people have completed the 14 day quarantine, informed the District Collector.

Two people tested positive for Covid-19 succumbed to the illness, today. One is a 24-year-old male from AVP layout Tiruppur admitted in CMCH on July 31 passed away on August 11 due to Covid complications. The other is a 60-year-old female admitted to CMCH on August 9 and passed away on 11.8.20.
