Tirupur: The CPI State Secretary Mutharasan has charged that there is a discrepancy in the number of COVID-19 cases and the number of deaths reported in the state. He also charged that the government has corrupt with not just currency but also corpses.
The CPI State Secretary Mutharasan has been conducting video conferences with the CPI State Executives and District Secretaries for the past two days, from the CPI District Office on the Tirupur Uthukuli road.
He met the press and spoke about the resolutions passed. He said, "The TN government announced that COVID-19 frontline workers who pass away would be provided with a solatium of Rs.50 lakhs but the GO mentions Rs.25 lakhs. This has raised questions about the government's credibility. Hence the GO must be changed immediately. There have been irregularities in the issue of E-passes and this process must be banned completely. Public transport must be operated with some relaxation. "
He added, "People slandering party offices and leaders on social media were complained upon and action against them was requested. However no action has been taken against them. The slander was spread by the RSS support groups. so action against them is being delayed. The CPI strongly objects to this."
"The new Education policy has been passed without seeking opinion and without any discussion at the Parliament. This is condemnable. Using the COVID-19 lockdown. many laws are being passed by the Central government, without any discussion. They must be revoked immediately. The discrepancy in the number of cases reported and the number of deaths reported have shown that the TN Government has not only scammed with currency by also with corpses", he charged.
Tirupur MP Subbarayan was present at the press meet.
