Coimbatore: Falcon Square, a private company from Coimbatore has designed a robot that can read people's body temperature at places where people movement is usually heavy.

The company at the Goldwins area in Coimbatore has designed the robot that can be placed at crowded places and organisations.

At a press meet organised at the Coimbatore Press Club, the company's Chairman Loganathan said, "Body temperature testing to identify COVID-19 is currently being done with thermometers. There are various difficulties in this method. As an alternative to this, the robot has been designed to read the body temperature of a person when any government ID such as the Aadhar, Driving License, Pan card or other ID is displayed."

He further said, "Electronic IDs issued by private companies can be displayed to the robot and the wrist of the person will then be scanned for the body temperature. Following this the robot will be auto sanitized. Body temperature of upto 30 people can be tested in a minute. The data obtained can be stored in cloud storage."

"Schools, colleges, government offices and private organisations can use this with ease. When there is a power outage, then the batteries in the robot can be used. This robot can be used to control the spread of COVID-19 that has been increasing in the district currently and has been built under the Start-Up India Scheme and is the first of its kind to use the wrist to test the body temperature", he said.

Sales Manager Karthik and Chief Software engineer Stanley were present at the meeting.
