The Nilgiris: The road to Dolphin Nose near Coonoor has been blocked due to landslide and uprooted trees.

Heavy rains in Emerald, Gudalur and other areas have caused trees to be uprooted and also caused landslides in these areas. The road to Dolphin Nose and the one used by tribals has broken into two due to heavy boulders falling on them.



As a result of this, traffic has been blocked completely and the Coonoor Highways department officials are inspecting the area.

The damaged road is the main access road to Dolphin Nose that is used by tea estate workers and tribals. The road has now been closed for use.
