Coimbatore: The onion business has seen an all-time low for more than 4 months due to coronavirus. The price of onion was seen soaring in line with the price of gold earlier, but now the business is completely affected.

The onion traders who bought merchandise on credit are now suffering with debts.
They used to buy onions from the neighboring state of Karnataka and various places in Tamil Nadu such as Dharapuram, Palani and Oddanchatram. In Kerala, onions are seen rotting due to continuous heavy rains.
They lamented that their businesses can move forward if and only if the Tamil Nadu government relaxes the E-pass regulations to go to other states. They said otherwise they would be led to a struggle between life and death along with their families.
