Coimbatore: Chinnakallar near Valparai received 88 mm of rainfall, which is the highest in Coimbatore District.

Coimbatore: Chinnakallar near Valparai received 88 mm of rainfall, which is the highest in Coimbatore District.

According to the District Disaster Management Department, a total of 376.90 mm of rainfall and an average of 26.92 mm of rainfall was recorded in 14 places across the Coimbatore District yesterday.

Due to this rain, various parts of the district including Pollachi, Valparai, Mettupalayam, Kavundampalayam, Periyanaickenpalayam, Narasimhanaickenpalayam, Podanur, Ukkadam, Gandhipuram were flooded.

Noyyal River, Kovai Courtallam and Bhavani River saw an increase in water flow. All the water bodies in the district are filling up fast.
