Sanitation workers in Ward No.67 ignored their tasks and staged a sit-in protest, causing a stir. The protesting workers of Ward 67 undertaking the sanitation at Olympus, Sowripalayam Pirivu and other important areas of the city.
The workers alleged that Health Inspector Pavunraj used casteist slurs to speak derogatorily about the workers and further alleged that even if women go out for meeting urgent needs, he would verbally abuse them.
The workers protested in front of the 67th ward Corporation office against the Health Inspector and demanded action against him.
