Minister S.P. Velumanipresented two families that lost dear ones when trees fell on their houses with Rs.4 lakhs from the CM's fund. He also presented caste certificates to the Izhuvatheeya community of Kerala origin who reside in the Nilgiris.

Speaking to the press, the Minister said, "During the last rains, Nilgiris MP A. Raja said that he was going to allocate Rs.10 crores but it was all talk and no action. It has still not been provided. To rectify the damages done to the electricity connections in the flood affected Nilgiris, 40 electricity workers from Kodaikkanal will arrive tomorrow. Within two days, power supplyin Gudalur and Pandhalur will be restored. Drinking water pipes have been damaged and immediate action will be taken to fix this."
