Tirupur: The child laborers who were recently rescued near Avinashi in Tirupur district were sent to their homes in respective districts by the Tirupur District Administration, today.
Following a complaint of child labourers employed at a private spinning mill in Alathur near Avinashi in Tirupur district, the Childline officials rescued 38 child labourers from the spinning mill, on July 24.

Of the total 38 children, 27 children belong from Thiruvannamalai district, 3 from Krishnagiri district, 2 from Villupuram district, 2 from Vellore district, 1 from Theni district and 1 from Karnataka, were rescued.

District Collector, K Vijayakarthikeyan, today interacted with the children and made arrangements to sent them back home.

All children were provided with food and transported in buses to their native places.
The District Collector also assured that legal action would be initiated against the private spinning mill in Alathur for employing child laborers.
"Steps would be taken to prevent such practices in the Tirupur district", he added.
