Noyyal river floods for the fourth day in Coimbatore

Coimbatore: Heavy rains in Coimbatore have caused the Noyyal river to flood for the fourth day continuously. Coimbatore district has been receiving heavy rains for the last few days.

Coimbatore: Heavy rains in Coimbatore have caused the Noyyal river to flood for the fourth day continuously. Coimbatore district has been receiving heavy rains for the last few days.

There is forecast for heavy rains in the Western Ghats for the next few days. The continuous rains has caused floods in the Noyyal and Bhavani rivers. The Noyyal River has been flooded for the fourth day.

The Noyyal River flows through areas including Athuppalam, Podanur and Vellalore. Vellalore - Singanallur and Ondipudur - Pattanam Pudur roads are flooded due to rains. These bridges are likely to flood if the rains continue.

Since the Vellalore-Singanallur road is damaged water stagnates, causing sever inconvenience to motorists.
