Due to incessant showers in Valparai and its adjoining areas, the rivers such as Pudhuthottam Aaru, Koolangalaari, Vazhaithottam Aaaru and Nadumalaiaaru have been flooding and inundating areas such as Dhobi Colony and TNSTC Workshop.
The officials are in the process of shifting buses and spare parts such as tyres to safe spots.
Officials from PWD, RD and Valparai Municipality are monitoring the floods. They have urged people residing in the banks of the rivers to vacate to safe places.
