The number of COVID-19 patients being admitted into hospitals has been increasing steadily as the number of cases continue to rise. Out of the total number of patients who were admitted into the ESI for treatment, 24 were pregnant women who have delivered 14 male and 10 female babies, inform the hospital sources.
A 22-year-old expectant mother receiving treatment at the Coimbatore ESI for COVID developed labour pain and the obstetrician conducted the delivery for her. Following this, she delivered a healthy 2.5 kg female baby.
In another case, a 25-year-old woman who was also being treated at the ESI delivered a healthy 2.7 kg male child through cesarean section.
The safe delivery of the babies, whose mothers had COVID-19, has overjoyed the public.
