32,000 cubic feet of inflow to Pillur Dam - Flood alert issued on third consecutive day

Coimbatore: Inflow of water to Pillur Dam has risen to 32,000 cubic feet and flood alert has been announced for the third day in a row. Sluices have been opened to release water.

Coimbatore: Inflow of water to Pillur Dam has risen to 32,000 cubic feet and flood alert has been announced for the third day in a row. Sluices have been opened to release water.

Currently the incoming water level for the Pillur Dam has reached 32,000 cubic feet. The Bhavani River overflows and touches both sides of the dam, as the 32,000 cubic feet of water is being released for the dam's safety.



A flood alert has been issued for the third day in a row on behalf of the district administration for people who reside along the river banks. The district administration has advised the people living in the low lying areas to be vigilant and has set up a disaster rescue team to prevent any damage.

Revenue and police continue to issue warnings through loudspeakers to caution people. The current water level at Pillur Dam is 97 feet out of its total capacity of 100 feet.
