Owing to the increase in cases as an act of precautionary measure, the wholesale vegetable daily market in Ooty will remain closed from August 6 to 10, an official announcement said.
The prices of vegetables and fruits are expected to increase due to the closure of the daily market after several cases of Covid-19 emerged from it, public opine.
So far, the Nilgiris has reported 897 cases with 36 new cases reported on August 5. With 731 discharges, 164 active cases are undergoing treatment at various facilities.
