Coimbatore: The robbery incident at the house of a person who was out for coronavirus treatment in the Kinathukadavu area has shocked people.

As the impact of the world-threatening coronavirus infection continues to grow, so does the number of infected and hospitalized people. The houses of the victims are covered with iron sheets. Thus the public is afraid to go near the infected houses. Similarly, thieves were also reluctant to go anywhere near the Containment areas due to the fear of contracting the virus, but the scenario seems to have changed now.

Gopi (name has been changed) hails from Kovilpalayam next to the Kinathukadavu area of Coimbatore. He was admitted to a private hospital on Avinashi Road, Coimbatore on the 24th of last month due to a confirmed coronavirus infection. Unidentified people who knew that there was no one in the house, broke the front door of the house and went inside and looted 3 sovereigns of jewelry including a ring and earrings and the LCD TV in the house.

When the victim returned home after being treated for COVID, he was shocked to find that the front door of the house was broken. He went in and found that the jewelry in the house had been looted. The Kinnathukadavu police have registered a case and are investigating.

The incident has shocked the public as until now they thought robbers would not touch houses that have been isolated. Patients who are undergoing treatment for COVID have demanded that the police provide security for their homes and property.
