Coimbatore: More than 60 houses in Coimbatore have been inundated with water overflowing from the flooding Noyyal. Coimbatore district has been receiving heavy rains for the last few days.

Coimbatore: More than 60 houses in Coimbatore have been inundated with water overflowing from the flooding Noyyal. Coimbatore district has been receiving heavy rains for the last few days.

This has caused floods in the Noyyal and Bhavani rivers. The Noyyal River has been flooded for the second day in a row.

After a long time, the Noyyal is roaring through areas including Athuppalam, Podanur and Vellalore. Meanwhile, water from the river infiltrated into the residence due to a slight break in its bank near Podanur Jamjam nagar and seeped into 10 streets in Sainagar. More than 60 houses have been inundated with the water.

Roads in the area lie immersed in water. The corporation officials who came there after receiving the information assured immediate repair of the breaks in the Noyyal river. Work is underway to prepare sandbags for this purpose.
