The speedy winds and heavy rains uprooted trees. The house of Arumugam, a vegetable vendor at the New market area in the Central area of Valparai was damaged by a huge tree that fell on the house. The room at the back of the house and the kitchen were damaged completely. The family, however, managed to escape as they were asleep in the front room.

Due to the incessant rains, the house that belongs to Natraj in the Anna Nagar area was damaged, when a wall collapsed and fell on it. Fortunately, only the kitchen at the back of the house was damaged.
