The areas of the Western Ghats and the Siruvani water catchment areas have been receiving heavy rains. As a result of this, water flow to the Noyyal river in Tirupur has increased. A flood alert has been issued to the people living in the low lying areas of the Noyyal river.

Families on the banks of the Noyyal such as Betthichettipuram Anaimedu, Jammanaiodai, and Sangilipallam Odai have been issued flood alerts by the authorities.
It is to be noted that Thirumoorthy and Amaravathi dams in the district have heavy inflow of water due to the heavy rains.
