Coimbatore: Over concerns of the adverse effect of Covid-19 pandemic on the global economy, the prices of gold and silver has reached a historical high, said Surabi Karthik, Secretary Gold Bullion Association Coimbatore.
The price of gold in the Indian market, rallied to an all-time high of per gram for 24 carat gold at Rs.5700 and 22 carat gold (8 gram) at a whopping Rs. 43000, on Wednesday.
Analysts have predicted that the price of gold and silver have sky-rocketed in the international market due to the rising cases of Covid-19 infections and consequent safe-haven investments
"With people in India showing an increased inclination towards safe investment by purchasing 22 carat gold ornaments like chains, studds etc., The manufacturers had to work round-the-clock in shifts with restricted manpower numbers amid government pandemic rules. We are ensuring to churn out sufficient quantities to balance this demand and supply situation", told the Secretary of Secretary Gold bullion Association, Coimbatore.
He added that this goes on to prove that gold, is a valuable investment option, time and again.
