CB-CID commence investigations in theSri Lankan gangster Angoda Lokka’s death

Coimbatore: The investigation into the death of Angoda Lokka, the Srilankan underworld don had been ordered to be transferred to the CB-CID by TN DGP.


Coimbatore: The investigation into the death of Angoda Lokka, the Srilankan underworld don had been ordered to be transferred to the CB-CID by TN DGP.

Angoda Lokka has been associated withmany criminal cases. He died on July 3 in Coimbatore. The TamilNadu DGP ordered for the investigation in the case to be transferred to the CB-CID.



The advisory meeting regarding investigation into this case began under the leadership of IG Shankar. The meeting is being held with the DSP Madasamy and other CB-CID officials.

It is alleged that the house where Angoda Lokka resided in Cheran Maanagar will be inspected, post the meeting.



Maddumage Lasantha Chandana Perera (a) Angoda Lokka (35) has been involved in many criminal cases such as drug smuggling and murder. He returned to India two years ago and was under hiding in the name of Pradeep Singh at Peelamedu in Coimbatore. It is a mystery as to how he entered India with fake documents.

On July 3, Angoda Lokka died. Since the SL police were on the lookout for him they informed the TamilNadu police regarding the death of Angoda Lokka.

Meanwhile DGP Tripathi ordered for the case to be transferred to the CB-CID, yesterday. The CB-CID IG Shankar arrived to Coimbatore and is now conducting a meeting with the CB-CID police.
