Monsoon showers bring joy and relief among Coimbatoreans

Coimbatore: Coimbatore and other districts near the Western Ghats enjoy the monsoon rains and the cool breeze that it brings along.


Coimbatore: Coimbatore and other districts near the Western Ghats enjoy the monsoon rains and the cool breeze that it brings along.

The districts lying close to the Western Ghats including Coimbatore and Nilgiris enjoyed the monsoon showers as forecast by the Chennai Meteorological department.

Areas in Coimbatore including Thudiyalur, Kavundampalayam and G.N. Mills received heavy rainfall for close to an hour.

City areas such as the District Collectorate, Railway station, Town Hall, Ukkadam, Race Course and Kuniyamuthur also experienced the showers.

The rains that pelted for more than half an hour have brought down the temperature of Coimbatore, leaving it cool and pleasant.
