Under the circumstances, burglars clad just in briefs who came to the area last night looted 12 sovereigns of gold from his house.
At first they broke into the house of one Kannan, but fled the scene as people inside the house were alerted by the noise the thieves made. They then attempt to steal from one Karthi's house in the same area. Those in the house who heard the noise shouted after which the thieves abandoned the robbery attempt. The thieves then broke Prabhus's house open, which is in the vicinity, and stole 12 sovereigns of jewelry.
Residents nearby found Prabhu's house broken into this morning and informed him. Kannan and Karthi have also said that 'half trouser robbers' attempted breaking into their homes. The incident was reported to the Sulur police station. Following this, the police examined the CCTV footage installed in the area and found that the robbers were similar to the 'Trouser robbers' who had recently roamed Coimbatore. Police have registered a case and are investigating.
