Coimbatore: Foundation stone laying ceremony for combined court complex in Pollachi was held today.

Coimbatore: Foundation stone laying ceremony for combined court complex in Pollachi was held today.

Pollachi Taluk has four courts including a sub court and 2 judicial magistrate courts that function at the premises of the Sub-Collector's Office in Pollachi. This being the case, 3.30 acres of land in Pollachi Sangampalayam area was acquired from Pollachi Municipality at an estimated cost of Rs. 3 crores 42 lakhs for building a combined court complex.

In view of the future needs of the Pollachi area, a total of 10 courts, including 6 courts in addition to the existing courts, are planned along with the concept of building judge housing quarters. Following this, the foundation stone laying ceremony was held for the construction of an integrated court complex at a cost of Rs 35.39 crores.



Pollachi MP Shanmugasundaram, Deputy Speaker of Tamil Nadu V. Jayaraman, Chief District Judge, R Sakthivel, Coimbatore Chief Judicial Magistrate Sreekumar, Pollachi Sub Collector Vaithiyanathan, Pollachi Bar Association members and Public Works Department officials were present at the event. Social distancing was observed and the requisite COVID norms were followed.
