Tirupur: With 30 new cases reported in Tirupur on Monday, the total Covid-19 tally rose to 979 in Tirupur district. 20 people have fully recovered and discharged, while two succumbed to the disease, today.
Presently, 348 active cases are undergoing treatment at both government and private hospitals in the district and Coimbatore.
2,899 people in the district with travel history and contact with high risk patients are under home quarantine.
Of which, 255 people were added to the list, today. 1527 were subjected to PCR testing, told District Collector K Vijayakarthikeyan who has also clarified that the difference in cases in the State and district bulletin is due to double entry, and will be rectified.
Details of patients who passed away due to Covid-19
A 37-year-old male from Ayyai Nagar Tiruppur admitted in CMCH on July 30 and tested positive for Covid passed away on August 1.
A 62-year-old male from KVR nagar Tiruppur passed away due to Bronchial Asthma/ DM at CMCH on August 2.
