Three arrested in Coimbatore for forging documents of deceased Sri Lankan drug trafficking leader.

Coimbatore police on Sunday arrested three people, including a Sri Lankan woman, in connection with faking documents of Angoda Lokka, deceased Sri Lankan drug trafficking leader.

Coimbatore: Coimbatore police on Sunday arrested three people, including a Sri Lankan woman, in connection with faking documents of Angoda Lokka, the leader of a Sri Lankan drug trafficking gang who died recently, here. 

Lasantha Chandana, Angoda Lokka, leader of a drug trafficking gang in Sri Lanka fled to India and was living with Sivagami Sundari (32) from Madurai and Amani Tanji (27) from Colombo in Cheranmanagar Green Garden area of ​​Coimbatore.

On July 4, Sivagami and Amani took Angoda Lokka to the Coimbatore Government Hospital due to severe health issues. Sivagami Sundari had produced a fake Aadhar card in the name of Pradeep Singh to the hospital claiming that Angoda Lokka was her cousin.

While, doctors declared him brought dead, his body was examined and handed over to Sivagami Sundari.

Following his sudden death, Sivagami Sundari and Amani Tanji took the body of Angoda Lokka to Sivagami Sundari's hometown Madurai and cremated it.

The Peelamedu police conducted an investigation into the case and it was revealed that the deceased was identified as Madhuma Chandana Vasantha Perera of Sri Lanka alias Angoda Lokka and his accomplice Amani Tanji of Colombo, Sri Lanka. They were involved in several murder and drug trafficking cases in Srilanka and escaped to India and were secretly living in India using fake identities. 

During investigation, it was also revealed that Sivagami Sundari and her friend Dyaneswaran (32) from Erode, who lives in Tirupur, helped Angoda Lokka and Amani Tanji, who were hiding in Coimbatore, to obtain fake Aadhar cards by concealing their name and nationality.

Following this, the police registered a new case at the Peelamedu police station and arrested Sivagami Sundari and Amani Tanji in the Cheran Maa Nagar area for impersonation and fake documents. 

The police are also investigating to know how did Sivagami Sundari from Madurai get acquainted with the notorious gangster Angoda Lokka and Amani Tanji, the leaders of the Sri Lankan drug trafficking gang?What is the connection between Angoda Lokka and Amani Tanji? The police have intensified the investigation from various angles.
